Ahvenisto Activity Park

Ahvenisto Activity Park offers a perfect balance of nature activities and fascinating Olympic history, close to Hämeenlinna’s city centre. Ahvenisto is located in an exceptionally beautiful setting with a deep and clear lake at its heart, created by the retreating glacial ice, surrounded by modern nature activities.

The renovated outdoor swimming pool nesting under the forested ridge was voted Finland’s Sport Venue of the Year in 2017. Originally, the pool was built as the 1952 Olympics’ pentathlon swimming stadium. At Ahvenisto, you can also run or walk the original pentathlon trail running route, and compare your fitness levels to the Olympians of the time.

We offer guided history tours and nature trail walks, as well as unforgettable nature activities such as the Flowpark adventure park, rental of electric mountain bikes and paddle boards, and different group activities.

Ahvenisto lends itself to a nature activity day even for a larger group. High-quality catering is organised by our partners, and depending on the size of your group, you can either eat in the café dating back to the Olympics, event tents, or outside by the campfire, weather permitting. A dip in the clear Lake Ahvenistonjärvi from our lakeside sauna completes the nature activity day!
